Upon finishing Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Never knew much about this book until my friend lent me a copy. I always thought it was some kind of, like, philisophical, search-for-meaning kind of heavy-hitter of a novel. Turns out it's the somewhat satirical pulp I might have enjoyed in high school. This is not to say that I did not enjoy it (I did). It's just that when you expect some heady intellectualism, but get the breezy shit you're more likely to use to pass the time on a trans-continental airline ride, you tend to be a bit disappointed, like getting beef jerky and potato chips instead of meat and potatoes.
