the tenth day

A sense of entitlement usually accompanies a privileged suburban upbringing. For me the feeling is the opposite. I feel guilty for getting things I feel like I haven't earned. I don't understand the appeal of conspicuous consumption. I can't relate to people who accessorize with shiny gadgets like iPods and bluetooth earpieces. I feel like hardship should be a necessary cost of luxury.
